It is anchored by Gila River Arena, home of the Arizona Coyotes, and adjacent to the University of Phoenix Stadium, home to the Arizona Cardinals. AVAILABLE PARTICIPATION

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST MURALS ($400 per artist honorarium)

Six to eight local mural artists will be selected at each location to create original 5 foot by 6 foot murals on raised, framed treated canvases in pedestrian walkways of the designated shopping centers. SATURDAY 11am-6pm

▪ $400 Honorarium will be paid to all artists participating
▪ All chalk will be provided by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance
▪ Complimentary water, rest area and snacks will be provided to all participating artists

KIDS ZONE & COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION MURAL
Artist Facilitator ARTIST TEAM - 2 ARTISTS ($400 per teaching artist honorarium) 2 KidsZone Locations

A community participation mural will be developed utilizing public participants, students, and event attendees in a progressive addition model that allows for a single themed piece of art to grow a super-sized street mural. The public participation mural will be administered by a local teaching artist to facilitate the growth of the signature piece as well as onsite instruction for emerging and amateur artists from an established artist.

▪ $400 Honorarium will be paid to all teaching artists participating
▪ All chalk, tent shading, seat cushions and additional supplies will be provided by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance
▪ Complimentary water and snacks will be provided to all participating teaching artists

DETAILS
All artists applying must provide up to 3 images (photos, digital files, sketches, or printouts), identified with your name, that are representative of your style of work. These will not be returned. Mail to the address below, or email to kate@saaca.org (JPEG & PDF format only)

1. NO artist will be accepted or considered without a sketch and brief description of their proposed canvas painting. If you are doing a reproduction (either your own work or another artist’s), please submit a copy/photo of the image with your sketch.

2. Chalk will be provided; however, if you are using a predominant color in your design you may want to purchase that color before the festival. Only non-oil-based soft chalk/pastels in a solid form may be used for the canvas painting. Acrylic paints, liquid pastels, oil-based pastels, hard pastels, etc. are not acceptable.

3. Artwork for the Festival must be appropriate for public viewing. No words or symbols intended as religious or offensive will be permitted.
