Featured Artist - The Fountains at La Cholla

October 2, 2019 - December 4, 2019

Submission period open until Monday, September 23rd, 2019. Selected artist will be notified of acceptance via email on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019. 

Exhibition Description:
Entries are currently being accepted for an art exhibition at The Fountains at La Cholla Gallery from October 2, 2019 - December 4, 2019. Artists should have available 5-10 pieces of artwork that are appropriate to be hung in an assisted living community and conform to the below hanging guidelines. Artists working in any 2D medium are encouraged to apply. Applications will be kept on file for future solo exhibition opportunities at The Fountains at La Cholla Gallery for up to one year.

Guidelines:
All artwork must be framed or gallery wrapped and ready to hang on The Fountains' hook system. Work should be no larger than 40” x 40” and not exceed a weight of more than 35 pounds. Wire hangers must be put horizontally on the backs of all hanging artwork and pull taut. No three dimensional art can be accommodated in this gallery.  Artists are invited to submit up to 10 submission of their work for display. All artwork must hang for the entirety of the exhibition dates. 

All participating artists must deliver their ready-to-hang artwork at The Fountains at La Cholla at 2001 West Rudasill Road, Tucson, AZ 85704 on Wednesday, October 2nd between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. If you cannot drop off your artwork on the designated date and time please contact Amanda Staples at astaples@saaca.org or 520-797-3959 ext 101 to make other arrangements prior to the opening date.

Exhibition duration: October 2, 2019 - December 4, 2019
Drop off Artwork: Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Artist Reception: Thursday, October 24, 2019, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Pick up Artwork: Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM 

About the Gallery: 
Creativity Matters at the Fountains at La Cholla.  The community has invested in a multi-faceted life-long learning program, which partners locally with SAACA to bring the arts to the residents in a creative way. The community gallery showcases and exhibits artwork from local and established artists, as well as resident art work year round.  Artwork is hung in highly trafficked areas of the building that are accessible and open to the public.

There is a 10% commission fee for any work sold at The Fountains at La Cholla.

Risk & Liability:
All entries will be made at the risk of the entrant. Care and caution will be exercised in the handling of all work; however, neither The Fountains at La Cholla or SAACA will be liable for any loss or damage to any artwork while it is in the possession of The Fountains at La Cholla or SAACA. Insurance during the show is the responsibility of the artist. Entry in the show and signature on the entry form automatically constitutes agreement with all the conditions and rules of this competition, including the right to photograph work for publicity purposes.
